I have a vector of latitude values (550) and a vector of longitude values (700) that create a custom grid I would like to plot in GE. I there a way to create a grid with these values? They are in Excel, but are simply two lists and cannot be used with the Excel to KML utlity. Final grid size is 700 x 550.
Hello,

I am creating a kml with 1000+ points on it. I was wondering if there is an option to set it so that it only shows a few of the points when you are zoomed out and then when you zoom in more it will display more of the points. I have seen it done on this file http://www.mci.mndm.gov.on.ca/mines/data/google/EDS013_rev/doc.kml .
I am working with fellow Vietnam vets to locate MIAs. We have 1966-70 era topo locations, probably WGS60 or 66. Once I locate a physical feature on the topo and find it on Google Earth i can decline the view point and provide others a realistic terrain view to help them define events.

Using the Earth Point conversion utility, working with WGS84, the results are off by about 30 kilometers. My question- is there a standard adjustment that I can apply to the Earth Point conversion latitude and longitude to get something that will correctly correspond to the Vietnam era maps?

hope this is not too confussing, but I'm no cartographer. There are hundreds of these locations to determine, and any help would be much appreciated.

Thank You,
JLN

Hello all,

I'm posting to request some help to improve my performance running the Excel To Google Earth feature of Earth Point.

In attach three files:
- Orthetrum_trinacria.csv
- Orthetrum_trinacria.kml
- Orthetrum_trinacria.png

The Orthetrum_trinacria.csv is the initial one. The cells in the Name column were intentionally empty, to avoid labels on Google Earth. The Orthetrum_trinacria.kml is the result of the Excel To Google Earth feature.
Finally, the Orthetrum_trinacria.png is a screen shot presenting the Orthetrum_trinacria.kml opened on Google Earth.

Everything is fine in that concerns the text that appears in the Google Earth pop-up balloon. However in the left window (My Places window) on Google Earth, only the Icon is presented to each one of the several points.

In order to improve the quality of my Google Earth presentations, it will be wonderful if I can present to each point, in the My Places window, the contents of two cells: Spot_code and Spot_name (see Orthetrum_trinacria.csv, please).
It is possible?

Thank you very much for your attention and help.
Best regards,

Nuno
