The batch convert utility looks really useful. However, I had a problem when I tried it. Using Internet Explorer, I submitted a tab-separated text file for conversion. Here are the first few rows, including the header:

Position rectype recid qno pernum tripnum coord1Or2
4601 1261599.16m 236525.5m 3 26551 15552 1 6 1
4601 1261599.16m 236525.5m 3 26551 15552 1 6 2
4601 1260018.33m 249258.54m 3 26553 15552 2 1 1

The "Position" column is hopefully formatted correctly for conversion. The remaining columns are so I can keep track of what to do with the converted coordinates after the conversion. The input file is called "tripxy_conversion_input.txt".

I'm attaching a shortened version of the input file.

The conversion seems to complete successfully. Internet Explorer gives me a notification at the bottom of the window asking me if I want to view or download "tripxy_conversion_input_converted.txt". When I try to download or view this file, I get an error saying the file could not be downloaded.

Any hints? Am I doing something wrong? Is it ok to have the extra columns in my input file?

John
