Display Excel Files on Google Earth

I was wondering if there is an option to set it so that it only shows a few of the points when you are zoomed out and then when you zoom in more it will display more of the points. I have seen it done on this file http://www.mci.mndm.gov.on.ca/mines/data/google/EDS013_rev/doc.kml . Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks, Ryan
